Hydroseeding involves mixing seed, fiber mulch and tackifier together in a tank of water. The mixture is then sprayed through a hose or turret and applied to the prepared seedbed. This is a very cost effective way to apply seed and is useful for hilly sites prone to erosion and on windy sites where seed may be blown away . It is fast and effective on flat sites as well. With hydroseeding, the seed is mixed with water and is well soaked by the time it is applied. The mulch holds the moisture around the seed and the tackifier holds the mixture in place as the fertilizer starts the seed and root growth.
We really don’t get a lot of questions about hydroseeding. ; )
